Description :
This Project aims at developing
a discrete event simulation package for Flexible Manufacturing Systems.
The project involvedAnalysis,Design,Coding and Testing.
The project consists of the following modules:
1.Optimisation and Scheduling Package
2.Development of a Simulation Language and
Compiler
3.Interfaces to other similar packages
4.GUI
5.OOAD and Implementation of Simulation Objects and Simulation Engine.
My Role and Responsibilities:
Involved
in Design ,Coding and testing of the simulation
Objects.
I was involved in the Analysis,
Design, Development and Testing of Simulation Objects and the Simulation
Engine. As a member of the Analysis and Design Team consisting of 5 members,
I was entrusted with the responsibility of studying, understanding, and
defining the scope of the Simulation module. This involved identifying
the objects to be developed, fixing their functionality and deciding on
the statistics to be collected. This was achieved through extensive research,
Industry visits and interactions with Consultants and domain specialists.
PetriNets were used to verify the design. I was then involved
in coding and testing of Assembly Station object. This Object incorporates
almost all the functionalities of a real life Assembly Station and can
be used to model any type of Assembly Station in real FMS.
